The Military Order of the Purple Heart Department of Connecticut just shipped
another group of "Care Packages" to 6 different U. S. combat units in Iraq. The
packages included sets of posters with thank you messages from MOPH
members and from the public (the care packages have included thank you messages from approximately 1,440 people), phone cards (shipments have had $1,000.00 in phone cards enclosed), and the items listed below. Operation Care Packages was formed in order to send thank you messages and care packages to Connecticut servicemen and women assigned to Iraq and Afghanistan. Since September care packages have been sent to 32 different units in Iraq.

Our next "packing and shipping" date is scheduled for August 6th between 10 am and noon at the Derby Veterans Memorial Hall at 1 Atwater Avenue, Derby, CT (Directions on our web site listed above, also check web site for future shipment dates). Items can be delivered then, or if necessary Chapter #1 will pick-up the items. Operation Care Packages will be an ongoing project, check our web site for future events and project progress reports.
