DAV CHAPTER #13 NEWS

Christmas and All Occasion Cards
Donated to VA Patients for the Second Consecutive Year

Save Hospitalized Veterans Some Money... Give Them Your Unused Christmas and All Occasion Cards! Stamford Chapter, No. 13 has led the Disabled American Veterans Department of Connecticut with a statewide project to collect unused Christmas and all occasion cards which will be distributed to the patients at the West Haven Medical Center and Rocky Hill Home and Hospital for them to send to their family and friends (The project was originally started by Stamford DAV Chapter #13 several years age). Many of us have unused greeting cards lying around the house which we have purchased from one of the major veterans organizations, to support their fund raising, or cards from other sources. Bring the unused cards to the next DAV department meeting or contact one of the DAV VAVS representatives to the VA and state hospitals listed on the "state officers" page. Buffert Brooks will deliver the collected cards to West Haven Medical Center during the first week in December, 2001.
Also, the next time your favorite Veterans Organization sells greeting cards as a fund raiser, buy an extra box or two and donate the cards to the project, and have your local post or chapter do the same. Thank you for your support!
